It had been almost four years since my last forest trek, and I was waiting for the right moment to reconnect with nature. When a long weekend came up thanks to a public holiday, I decided this was it.
This time, it wasn’t a solo or friends’ trip - I planned it with my wife and daughter, making it extra special.
After considering a few destinations, we finalized Maredumilli. With only three days in hand, I wanted a place that offered dense forest vibes without spending too much time on the road.
Day 1: Journey Begins (Friday)
We started early at 6:00 AM from Hyderabad
- Took a breakfast break around 9:00 AM
- Reached Bhadrachalam by noon and had lunch at a local hotel
After lunch, we headed towards our stay near Mothugudem / Polluru area, surrounded by forest.
Once we checked in, we couldn’t wait to step outside.
In the evening, while exploring nearby, we discovered a beautiful flowing stream.
That moment became the highlight of the day —
My daughter happily jumped into the water and spent time playing and swimming.
We returned to the resort, had dinner, and called it a night early at 9 PM — saving energy for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Exploring Nature (Saturday)
The second day was packed with scenic spots and pure nature vibes:
- Early morning visit to the famous Pushpa Bridge
- Explored the massive Donkarayi Dam
- Lunch break to recharge
- Post-lunch drive to the serene Sileru river streams
The entire day felt like stepping into a different world - lush greenery, flowing rivers, and complete peace.
We wrapped up the day with a cozy campfire in the evening, sharing moments and enjoying the silence of the forest.
Day 3: Slow Morning & Return (Sunday)
The last day started early again:
- Visited a local tribal village, experiencing simple and raw village life
- Stopped again at Pushpa Bridge for one last look
- Visited the Forebay Dam nearby
More than the places, this trip was about family.
The forests, rivers, and dams were beautiful,
but the real joy was watching my daughter experience nature so freely.
