Hyderabad to Wayanad road trip

 Summary:

Hyderabad -> Bangalore ->  Wayanad -> Vasco Da Gama Beach -> Wayanad -> Hyderabad

As usual, I am not mentioning much about roads & routes, Since it is straightforward, Just I followed the maps.

Let's start with the planning

Our marriage anniversary is coming in the next two weeks, so we decided to go somewhere, Shortlisted Wayanad. The main reason to select Wayanad is less crowd compared to any hill station. I started booking the Home Stay and resort. So we are going to begin our road trip on May 19th.

May 19th

Hyderabad -> Bangalore

10 AM

We started our journey on May 19th Saturday, Initial plan is to reach Bangalore Outskirt hotel by sunset.

7 PM

We reached the hotel and had dinner, We are done with Day 1.

May 20th

7 AM

We woke up at 6 AM and started towards Wayanad, Already we visited Mysore three times, So no interest to halt in Mysore again. So we continued our journey till Homestay.

11AM

Road in very Scenic. Especially Bandipur Tiger reserve is very calm and beautiful.

2 PM

By lunchtime we reached the homestay, It is very beautiful, owned and maintained by a retired family. There are only 3 cottages, so we have plenty of privacy.

They had their own kitchen, so we asked for special local dishes, they suggested a fish item, we said Okay.

No hurry, as usual, I am interested to visit the limited places, So On Day 2, we took a tour of the local town and village. We explored the homestay surroundings.

So the next day we had our anniversary, I went to a local bakery and bought a cake. We are done with Day 2.

May 21st

Midnight, We celebrated our anniversary with a cake and few gifts.

6 AM

There are very very limited temples in Wayanad, So we searched in google and went for darshan, By 7 AM we completed Darshan and breakfast.

8 AM

We went to visit the Lakkidi viewpoint.

11 AM

My wife wants to visit the Beach, So we started towards Vaskodigama Beach, Road is very scenic.

We had lunch on the way to the beach, We reached the beach by 3PM.

We spend 2 hrs on the beach and took a lot of pics.

We started to return to homestay before sunset.

We reached the homestay by 8PM, had dinner. we are done with Day 3.

May 22nd

We check out from homestay, and they arranged breakfast for us. We settled the food bill.

10 AM

We reached the resort, Resort is beautiful, We explored all amenities provided by them. It is a good location, Just 2km away coffee plantation is there.

The cottage is really excellent.

We reached the resort before sunset, before going out we ordered our dinner. So by the time we fresh up, our dinner is ready. we Done with Day 4.

May 23rd

8 AM

As per plan we started towards Kuruvu Island, Someone said entry tickets will close by 10 AM, So we started early and reached by 10 AM, But we are the first one to there by the time we reach.

10 AM

We went inside the island, To be frank, it is not worth visiting, After seeing a lot of greenery this Island makes no sense to me, even my wife also got bored.

3 PM

We reached the resort and had lunch, So as a final touch we went to coffee plantation fields, Really it is worth visiting.

Reached the resort after sunset, and settled all food amount, and told we are going to check out early morning, that is before sunrise, So we are done with Day 5.

May 24th

1. We check out the resort by 4Am, had breakfast in Wayanad.
2. After crossing Bangalore, we had lunch and took some rest.
3. Before sunset, we stopped near Anantapur for a Tea break.
4. After crossing Mahbubnagar we stopped for dinner and took a power nap. 
5. We reached Hyderabad by midnight.

Verdict:

If you are already covered Munnar, Coorg & Chikmagular then Wayand should be your option. Otherwise, go to one of the places from above.
